Move Us God

Last night while I was spending time with God, a thought came to me – “Why are we no longer moved by The Cross?”

If we were truly moved by the Cross, we couldn’t help but love unconditionally (not based on other’s actions) and forgive freely. Not only that, but we would also be driven to live for God and put Him first in every area of our lives. This idea ties into the next revelation that God gave to me -“Idols are anything in our lives that take the place of God.”

I think sometimes we often have the mindset that an idol has to relate to some material object we worship. However, according to Scripture, if we even have the attitude or demonstrate the behavior that our heart lies with something or someone (celebrity, famous athlete, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc) other than the Lord, we have participated in “idol worship” and have disobeyed God.

Exodus 20:3 - "You shall have no other gods before Me.”

To get the “awe factor” back into our faith, I wholeheartedly believe that we need to spend time in prayer and in God’s Word. What we spend time on and invest our money on tells a lot about what we value. Let us show God that we value Him first and foremost by spending time with Him in prayer and His Word!! And don’t forget the value of being real with God!! ;-) When we do this, we fall in love with the Lord and our priorities will dramatically change. As a result, we will no longer have any other gods before our God Almighty. :)

I pray that today you will be captivated by God’s love for you and be so moved by His work on the Cross, that we cannot help but make Him the center of our lives.
